25th Anniversary Celebration

The 25th Anniversary in October 2007 celebrates the Enduring Vision of Four Great Men: Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and Lafayette.

Visits to châteaux in southwestern France that are associated with the American patriots and the inauguration of a replica of the statue of George Washington by Houdon on the Ile de Ré commemorate the beginnings of the historic friendship between France and the new nation.

The highlight is a candlelit ball in the magnificent 17th-century Château of Vaux-le-Vicomte built by Nicolas Fouquet who employed the creative genius of Le Vau, Le Nôtre, and LeBrun who would later work to embellish Versailles. The 25th anniversary gala revives that legendary splendor.
