Since its beginning in 1991, the Philadelphia Chapter has organized several social and educational events per year relating to themes of French culture and Philadelphia’s French connections. The proceeds from these events are designated for specific FHS grants, which its members have chosen to fund, in France and in the United States. The Philadelphia Chapter has supported such projects as the Rodin Museum of Philadelphia, the Katrina Heritage Rescue Fund, the Château de Montigny in Burgundy and numerous others. Past highlights include a gala dinner at Ardrossan, the Main Line estate in Beaux Arts style of the Scott family; a “pique-nique” at Fort Mifflin; and a lecture series about Benjamin Franklin in France.
Julia Ward and Valérie de Condé are the Philadelphia Chapter’s Co-Chairmen.
