The New Orleans Chapter organizes a variety of events for its
members throughout the year, such as lectures, private museum tours, wine tastings,
day trips to surrounding homes and plantations, and special dinners. Past highlights have included a seated gala dinner in the
Cabildo for the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase, a two day tour of Cajun country,
and a book signing at a historic Garden District private home.
Proceeds from Chapter benefits are designated for specific grants which members have
voted to support. The New Orleans Chapter has raised funds for restoration projects
including Laura Plantation; the repainting of interior rooms of Pitot House, an early
plantation home on Esplanade; and Bayou St. John.
